Und auch wenn heute viele erklären, es hätte sich doch nur um Spott von Pilatus gehandelt, so zeigt uns diese Bibelstelle, dass diesem wohl nicht so ist. Denn: Man regt sich bei Pilatus darüber auf, der dazu meint:

Johannes 19,22 Pilatus antwortete: Was ich geschrieben habe, das habe ich geschrieben.

So wie ihn auch das Bekenntnis Jesu, dass er der Judenkönig wäre, zuvor zu der Überzeugung leitet, dass Jesus unschuldig ist.

Johannes 18,37 Da sprach Pilatus zu ihm: So bist du dennoch ein König? Jesus antwortete: Du sagst es: Ich bin ein König. Ich bin dazu geboren und in die Welt gekommen, dass ich die Wahrheit bezeuge. Wer aus der Wahrheit ist, der hört meine Stimme. 38 Spricht Pilatus zu ihm: Was ist Wahrheit? Und als er das gesagt hatte, ging er wieder hinaus zu den Juden und spricht zu ihnen: Ich finde keine Schuld an ihm.

Heute zu Tage wird nicht mehr gekreuzigt, wenn man sich eines Königs entledigen will, sondern man versucht irgendwelche Fehler zu finden, oder den Stammbaum anzuzweifeln, der bei Jesus ja klar auf David zeigt.
